In the world today we think of ourselves as part of somewhat isolated Communities, Tribes or Landed Nation States and not as a part of the whole Human population of Earth.

Taking pride in our “Tribe” is a good thing, but at the same time this has to be tempered with the knowledge that we are all part of “Planet Earth” and must respect that in everything we do.

We must also respect the laws and culture of the landed nation in which we reside, whether as a citizen or an asylum seeker. We must make a personal oath to defend the landed nations in which we live from all enemies within and without the part of Mother Earth on which we reside.

All citizens of the Earth have a moral responsibility to offer refuge to those in need. However, this act of compassion must not be met with disregard or undermined by those who abandon their sense of humanity and seek to harm the very nations that have graciously extended shelter during times of war and crisis. It must be clearly understood that asylum is a privilege granted by sovereign nations to individuals whose own homelands are no longer safe—and that privilege must be respected.

Imagine a world where when those in power tried to make war and no one participated because the rest of the landed nations offered temporary sanctuary until those who wish to take that to which they are not entitled by force bringing death and mayhem to the Citizens of Earth whom they are supposed to be  protecting And providing a rule of law that applies to all Ensures the basic right of the pursuit of happiness as a whole.

The horrors of war and the atrocities of terrorists and the destroyers of humanity must be put behind us as Citizens of Earth and become a distant memory to all. When any human or sentient being is in harm’s way, all others must give them sanctuary until harm is no longer, and they can peacefully return to their homes in the landed nation of choice. This by no means gives license to use this benevolence as an entrance to allow destruction of a civil society that has given them sanctuary in the times of need. Sanctuary and benevolence must be repaid by supporting the laws and traditions of the landed nation in which you seek Safe Harbor as you are a guest.

This does not make for an easy path through this life, but instead, is the honorable and necessary path  for all to follow. It is time for all  the Citizens of Earth to honor this path and use it to guide their daily decisions for the best interests of all Citizens of Earth for the next seven or more generations from now.
