Empowering Change through Education and Collaboration

During the Bosnian War, especially at the onset of the Siege of Sarajevo and related ethnic violence, thousands of families were forced to flee their homes with little or no warning. Many had to escape through forests, mountains, or under cover of night to avoid snipers, checkpoints, and military patrols. In the rush for safety, many people left behind not only their belongings, but also critical documents like passports, IDs, birth certificates, and property deeds.

During these events, it became clear, as it continues to be today, that in times of war and upheaval, people require the benevolence and a myriad of support from others to survive. This concept sparked the idea for Project Citizen Earth. 

Currently, the organization is headquartered in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States. 

Project Citizen Earth is not a religious organization. Rather, it is a community rooted in openness, compassion, and inclusivity. We welcome all benevolent Citizens of Earth—regardless of religion, ethnicity, culture, or personal beliefs—who are committed to fostering a supportive environment, guided by the shared values of doing no harm and striving to create positive impact wherever possible.
